Air Tran has joined the numerous airlines who have recently waived their date change and cancellation penalties on flights troubled by recent adverse climate conditions during the West.
Although, this is the superb gesture from airlines, which can help people in alerting their dates to suitable weather however, this should also help the airlines in regulating the air traffic after several thousand flight cancellations in Europe and Americas.
United states based Airline, AirTran is mostly a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc., and is an affordable American Airline. Inside a notice released this month the airline has advised passengers scheduled for travel to/from cities from the northeast affected by a bitter winter weather system so it has extended the waiver period to 2 weeks past original date of travel for individuals passengers booked for travel on December 27th, through Thursday, December 30, 2010.
The airline further states that passengers may change their reservation without penalty provided travel is finished within 14 days once the original scheduled departure date, depending on space availability without fees or fare adjustments to on flights to Allentown, Pa., Atlantic City, N.J., Baltimore/Washington, Md`. (BWI), Boston, Mass., Buffalo, N.Y., Harrisburg, Pa., Newport News/Williamsburg, Va., Los angeles, N.Y. (LaGuardia), Philadelphia, Pa., Pittsburgh, Pa., Portland, Maine, Richmond, Va., Rochester, N.Y., Washington, D.C. (Dulles and Reagan), and White Plains, N.Y.
AirTran has canceled 57 flights yesterday, for December 27th a result of the multitude of passengers affected by cancellations on the Christmas holiday weekend, the airline encourages passengers to utilize the airline's site to check flight status and rebook as passenger call volume is amazingly high.
AirTran operates over 1,000 daily flights, primarily from the eastern and Midwestern States.
